undreds of crew members of intercity buses in Lebak Bulus terminal staged a protest on Wednesday and demanded the city administration find them a new location in South Jakarta from which to operate, beritajakarta.com reported.

'€œMost of us and our customers live in the south part of Jakarta. We need a better relocation plan,'€ said Sumardi, head of the Intercity Bus Crew Cooperative (Kowanbisata).

The terminal will be closed to intercity buses from Jan. 6 to make way for the construction of a shelter for the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system.

Terminal manager Adjmain said bus operators had been informed about the relocation to Pulogadung, Kampung Rambutan and Kalideres terminals.

Pulogadung and Kampung Rambutan are located in East Jakarta, while Kalideres is in West Jakarta.

Adjmain said 80 bus companies currently operated 200 intercity buses at the terminal.

'€œThe Transportation Agency and the police will help close the terminal to intercity buses,'€ he said.
