oted lawyer AdnanBuyung Nasution acknowledged that he had advised his client, former DemocraticParty chief Anas Urbaningrum, to not answer anything during interrogation becauseof, what he deemed to be, the Corruption Eradication Commission's (KPK) unclearcharges.

'Investigators have told my client that he has been charged in connection to alleged graft in the Hambalang sports center project case and other projects as well. But when we asked about the other projects, they could not give a clear answer,' Adnan said on Friday as quoted by kompas.com.

As a result of keeping quiet, he went on, he and his client had survived today's questioning session without a dossier being written.

Adnan, who is one of the founders of the Indonesia Legal Aid Institute (YLBHI), said he had not intended this to be a strategy to give KPK investigators a hard time but more of a lesson that a suspect should be held under clear charges.

'The KPK as a law enforcer should know about this. I personally have the moral obligation to ensure the KPK enforces the law without violating human rights,' he said.(dic)
