tate-Owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan signed an anti-corruption memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) head Hadi Pramono in Jakarta on Friday, with the aim of stating the ministry's commitment to transparency in every project tendered by state-owned enterprises.

'€œDetailed information of every project tender to be held in the future will be shared with the BPK, including which parties are related to the project tender, the payment system, etc. This policy will be implemented as soon as possible,'€ Dahlan said as quoted by the Antara news agency.

The minister further said that the government was considering obliging a non-cash transfer for every project tender offered by state-owned enterprises.

The policy was necessary to avoid the bribery that is often resorted to by subcontractor companies that want to win the project bid, similar to what happened in the problematic development of the Hambalang sports center in West Java province.

Meanwhile, Hadi appreciated the MOU signing, saying that it was in line with the spirit of good corporate governance.

'€œThe MOU about project transparency is important considering there is a lot of money involved in the projects tendered by the state-owned enterprises,'€ he explained.
