'Most of the garbage, 85,650 tons, came from residential areas,' the agency's head, Unu Nurdin, was quoted by antaranews.com as saying on Monday.
He said that the garbage, including heavy materials such as mattresses, furniture, bamboo, lumber, refrigerators and other household appliances, piled up at the Season City and Teluk Gong bridges in West Jakarta, at the Pluit sluice gate in North Jakarta, at the Kalibata and Kampung Melayu bridges and the Manggarai sluice gate in South Jakarta, at the Perintis Kemerdekaan sluice gate in East Jakarta and at the Karet sluice gate in Central Jakarta.
