olkar Party chairman and presidential candidate Aburizal Bakrietold party cadres and sympathizers in Medan, North Sumatra that a Golkar win inthe upcoming elections was the only path to a state of welfare in this country.

'€œIf you want to live in a better condition, then Golkar must win the elections,'€ he told a campaign meeting at Merdeka square in Medan on Thursday as quoted by antara.com.

The party'€™s top brass, like secretary-general Idrus Marham, deputy advisory council chief Lt. Gen. (ret) Luhut Panjaitan and head of Golkar'€™s North Sumatra chapter Ajib Shah, were also seen at the venue.

Aburizal said if Golkar won the elections, he would continue the previous government'€™s best programs as well as implementing his own, called '€œVision 2045: Welfare State'€.

'€œThe good things in the past will not be forsaken,'€ he said.

Golkar, the country'€™s second largest party, is seen as one of the few parties, along with the Indonesian Democracy Party of Struggle (PDI-P) that could win this year'€™s elections.
