espite having criticized Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo's political moves, ProsperousJustice Party (PKS) chairman Anis Matta has said that his party is more thanready to work in hand in hand with the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P).
'We've formed a coalition with the PDI-P before and there is opportunity to do so again,' said Anis Matta on Saturday, as quoted by Antara news portal.
In May, the PKS pledged to support PDI-P candidate Anak Agung Puspayoga in the Bali gubernatorial election. However, he suffered a narrow lost against a candidate endorsed by a number of other parties, including the Golkar Party and the Democratic Party.
Anis warned that even though there were a huge number of registered voters, it was not likely that a single party could win the elections by a landslide.
'My prediction is that at the end of the day, we will only have three or four presidential-vice presidential pairs,' he said.
Anis was confident that the PKS would be able to garner enough votes and would be listed among the top three. (idb/dic)
