police official said the National Police would deploy personnel groupedunder the VIP task force to safeguard the presidential and vice-presidentialcandidates.

He said the personnel were highly trained and would perform closed and open security perimeters.

'€œThe task force will also provide traffic and personal escorts with special vehicles,'€ brig. Gen. Boy Rafli Amar of the National Police said on Wednesday, as quoted by tribunnews.com.

Boy added that they would provide a medical team comprised of doctors, nurses and an ambulance.

"They [the medical team] will be with the candidates all day long," he said. (fss/dic)
