he only declared candidate for the FIFA presidencysays he won't step aside if, as expected, Sepp Blatter confirms before theWorld Cup next month that he's seeking a fifth term.
In an interview with The Associated Press, former FIFA executive Jerome Champagne wouldn't accept that attempting to unseat Blatter, his former boss, was a lost cause.
Champagne said 'an election is an election', adding that 'we have seen a lot of underdogs and outsiders also sometimes winning.'
He said 'don't ask me to tell you now what will be the end result. I leave that to the pundits and I leave that to the journalist'.
In 2011, Blatter was reelected as the only candidate.
This time, said Champagne, 'we need more than one candidate [...] We need different points of views'
