orruption Eradication Commission (KPK) deputy chairman Bambang Widjojanto said on Tuesday that the antigraft body had the authority to investigate corruption cases involving the Indonesian Military (TNI).
'According to Article 44 of the Corruption Law, we have jurisdiction over the military,' Bambang said in a seminar on Tuesday.
Bambang said, however, that the KPK could only launch an investigation into graft allegations involving the military if it had solid evidence, meaning at least two pieces.
'If we don't, we won't [launch an investigation],' Bambang said.
Bambang shrugged off the notion that KPK investigators would have a hard time dealing with the TNI.
'We can summon the vice president, why couldn't we do the same for the military?' Bambang said.
