Prabowo-Hatta hope for fair court assessment

T

he Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa team filed alawsuit against the General Elections Commission's  (KPU) presidentialelection result at the Constitutional Court on Friday.

Gerindra Party secretary-general Ahmad Muzani said on Friday that the team was optimistic that the truth about the election violations would be revealed at the court because the team had provided sufficient evidence, as reported by tribunnews.com.

"We have to be sure the judges act fairly and professionally. The data that we have provided is all valid," he said in Jakarta.

Furthermore, the campaign team has also provided the court with 52,000 witnesses who worked at the polling stations, in addition to the data.

"The violations that occurred were structured and systematic, we are sure that the evidence will overturn the KPU's result," he said.

The court will begin hearings on Aug. 6 on the lawsuit filed by the Prabowo-Hatta team. (fss)
