Sex workers return to work

A

fter Ramadhan, sex workers are back in their usual spots in West Jakarta. They could be seen in parlors on Jl. Tubagus Angke, Jl. Hayam Wuruk, in Grogol Petamburan and Taman Sari.

The working girls ply their trade at night, from around 10 p.m.

Karyono, 52-year-old resident of Wijaya Kusuma subdistrict in West Jakarta, said the sex workers had returned to Jl. Tubagus Angke three days ago.

'€œIt is still the Lebaran holiday but customers have begun to show up again, so the girls are back,'€ he said, as quoted by beritajakarta.com.

West Jakarta Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) head Kadiman Sitinjak said he knew call girls were working around Jl. Tubagus Angke and Jl. Hayam Wuruk.

'€œWe will address the issue soon. We hope both streets will soon be free of sex workers,'€ he said.
