rosperous Justice Party (PKS) senior politician Tifatul Sembiring said Monday it was unlikely that Prabowo Subianto's Red-and-White Coalition would last long.
The communication and information minister said that there was no such thing as a permanent coalition despite the coalition, which consists of seven political parties, claiming that it was solid.
"Personally, I don't believe in a permanent coalition. Politics keeps changing," Tifatul told reporters in Nusa Dua, Bali.
He cited the example of the current ruling coalition led by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's Democratic Party, which saw its five-year run in the government rocked by internal rifts due to PKS frequently opposing the government's policies despite it being in the ruling coalition.
"Prabowo didn't even win the presidency. Even Pak SBY experienced internal rifts. ," Tifatul said, referring to Yudhoyono by his initials.
