building facade along the east side of the 24-storyBlok G building at the City Hall compound on Thursday collapsed onto the Blok Bbuilding, where Deputy Governor Basuki '€œAhok'€ Tjahaja Purnama'€™s office islocated.

The incident, which occurred at 4:20 p.m., caused panic, sending dozens of civil servants who were still at the office out onto the street. Most civil servants had gone home at 4 p.m. and Governor Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo had already left City Hall at the time of the incident. No one was injured.

While fleeing his office, Ahok only asked '€œdid something collapse?'€

The deputy governor immediately instructed the general affairs bureau chief to investigate and report the case to the police.

City secretary Saefulloh said the city would ask developer PT Jaya Konstruksi, as the contractor, to be responsible and repair the facade.

'€œThe project took place in 2010 and 2011, so it has only been three years,'€ he said.

Saefulloh added the city would also demand the developer check out the facade on the west side.
