nline payment service provider PT Nusa Satu Inti Artha (DOKU) says it is optimistic that the online transaction payments it manages will increase by 40 percent this year. DOKU says that the growth of its business is supported by a flourishing online market in Indonesia.
DOKU chief executive officer, Thong Sennelius, said the company managed transactions worth Rp 5 trillion (US$ 425 million) throughout 2013 and this figure was expected to rise to Rp 7 trillion by the end of 2014.
'We are optimistic about reaching the target because we have managed Rp 3.1 trillion in transactions in the first half of this year,' Thong said, as quoted by kontan.co.id on Thursday.
He said that the significant rise in payments they managed was triggered by the company's range of products, such as DOKU Wallet and DOKU MyShortCart, which were launched last year.
DOKU Wallet is a pre-paid online service system offered by teaming up with state-owned lender PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) to guarantee the safety of consumers' online payments.
