he European Union (EU) in collaboration with the Trade Ministry launched on Thursday a website ' INATRIMS ' containing all round information about technical regulations in the 28-nation bloc.
The program's team leader Aditya Nugroho said that the website would help local business people to better understand regulations affecting their exports to the bloc, so that they could comply with them to access the sizeable market. Until now, an inability to meet high standards, as well as quality and technical regulations had been the key problem for Indonesian exporters to the EU, he added.
The website is part of the second EU-Indonesia Trade Support Program totaling ¤15 million (US$19.81 million) funded by the regional grouping between 2011 to 2015 with a goal of boosting the capacity of Indonesian exporters. Other programs include improvements in the supply chain of major local commodities, such as cocoa and nutmeg.
