ndonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) politician Effendi Simbolon has said the upcoming party congress will almost certainly reelect Megawati Soekarnoputri as leader of the party.
'This party has three potential leadership candidates. The first candidate is Ibu Megawati, the second is Ibu Megawati and the third is Ibu Megawati,' he said.
He added that the party would probably not propose Jakarta Governor and president-elect Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo as a candidate for chairmanship of the party, as it would prefer he focus on leading the country over the next five years.
Effendi, who is also a member of House of Representatives Commission VII on energy and mineral resources, said the party would hold its congress next year. He said the party was currently concentrating on preparations
