Dimas Danang Suryonegoro gets a lot of help from gadgets to go about his day. However, the radio and TV personality loves to keep it simple, wielding only few tools to cater to all his needs.
The 25-year-old said he did not like having many gadgets, opting only to own a smartphone and a laptop ' and both of the same brand: Apple.
Danang is the greenhorn half of The Dandees duo.
With his partner, Imam Darto, Danang made a name with young radio audiences with The Dandees on Prambors Radio, a show that has been airing four hours every weekday since 2011. The duo is known for (cringe-inducing) puns and word plays.
The duo earned a bigger stage and audience after hosting The Comment, which features humorous videos found on the Internet, on the NET television channel since 2013.
Danang is also vocalist and guitarist for an aspiring rock band called Why Phoebe.
Honing skills
I also use apps to practice my guitar-playing skills because I am not a trained musician and I don't have time for guitar lessons. I use ChordBank and GoodEar apps. ChordBank helps me learning variations of guitar chords, which is really useful because I also write songs in my band. Music apps allow me to practice my skills every day, everywhere. I hope by using the apps daily I can be as good as Dewa Budjana.
Staying up to date
Apart from the basic apps ' like messengers and social media apps like WhatsApp, LINE, Path and Instagram ' I use my iPhone 5 to keep updated with news. I use a number of news apps including Detik, BuzzFeed, Kompas, and Merdeka. I like Detik and BuzzFeed because the former offers the fastest updates on Indonesian news, while the latter allows users to receive updates based on categories. I love chatting with LINE because it has cool stickers. I have One Piece and Crow Zero manga stickers on my messenger service.
Creative control
I have an old MacBook Pro that I use to create designs for myself and for my friends. I want to start a T-shirt business, so I experiment on designs with the laptop. I love to look around for new designs and ideas and inspiration from design apps Threadless and Behance. I also use the laptop to read online manga series. I don't feel the need to buy a newer MacBook, because this one still good enough for me. I won a MacBook Air in a contest recently, but I have yet to touch it.
