he Jakarta Police confiscated United Development Party (PPP) legislator Abraham 'Lulung' Lunggana's green Lamborghini on Sunday evening because it was not registered with the city police and was using a fake police registration number.
'Yes, we have confiscated it in order to further our investigation,' Adj. Sr. Comr. Indarsono, an official from the traffic police's law enforcement sub-directorate, said on Monday.
Indarsono explained that the police needed to confiscate the car in order to examine its ownership permits.
Previously, Lulung shocked bystanders when he drove to his Jakarta City Council (DPRD) inauguration in the luxury car on Aug. 25.
Lulung told reporters that his car's police registration number was a temporary one as the vehicle registration was still being processed by the Jakarta Police. However, officials from the Jakarta Police denied that they had published a registration letter for the Lamborghini and said that the letter Lulung possessed must be a counterfeit.
