PPP remains in Prabowo'€™s coalition

F

ormer United Development Party (PPP) chairman Suryadharma Ali said that the party was still in the Red-and-White Coalition and had not switched sides.

Suryadharma also said that his ouster from the party was planned by people who wanted the party to join the coalition of president-elect Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo.

Earlier on Friday, Suryadharma dismissed all PPP officials that he deemed responsible for his ouster as party chairman.

Secretary-general Romahurmuziy and three deputies, Emron Pangkapi, Lukman Hakim Saifuddin and Suharso Monoarfa, were fired by Suryadharma, who said the four officials had severely violated the party'€™s constitution by attempting to fire him.

'€œThey are facing the consequences of trying to fire me illegally. What they did was against the party'€™s regulations,'€ he said Friday.

Suryadharma appointed Saifullah Tamliha secretary-general and four deputies '€” Dimyati Natakusumah, Hasrul Azwar, Masykur Hasyim and Epryardi Asda '€” soon after the mass firing.
