ormer United Development Party (PPP) chairman Suryadharma Ali said that the party was still in the Red-and-White Coalition and had not switched sides.
Suryadharma also said that his ouster from the party was planned by people who wanted the party to join the coalition of president-elect Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo.
Earlier on Friday, Suryadharma dismissed all PPP officials that he deemed responsible for his ouster as party chairman.
Secretary-general Romahurmuziy and three deputies, Emron Pangkapi, Lukman Hakim Saifuddin and Suharso Monoarfa, were fired by Suryadharma, who said the four officials had severely violated the party's constitution by attempting to fire him.
'They are facing the consequences of trying to fire me illegally. What they did was against the party's regulations,' he said Friday.
Suryadharma appointed Saifullah Tamliha secretary-general and four deputies ' Dimyati Natakusumah, Hasrul Azwar, Masykur Hasyim and Epryardi Asda ' soon after the mass firing.
