olice apprehended 30 members of a motorbike gang who were reportedly planning to drink alcohol at a housing complex on Jl. Adhiyaksa Baru in Makassar on Saturday night.

Makassar Police chief Sr. Comr. Fery Abraham said the arrest was made based on information from the public, following increasing violence on the streets allegedly involving motorbike gangs.

'€œTwenty-five have been sent home while five people are still being detained for further questioning,'€ Fery said on Sunday.

He said the five motorbike gang members were suspected of being involved in several crimes, including the robbery of several coffee shops.

Fery claimed the five gang members, identified as Dejan, 17, Asri, 17, Yuda, 17, Andika, 17, and Arya, 19, had earlier been listed in a targeted police operation.
