ecretary-general of the Gerindra Party, Ahmad Muzani, said that the presence of National Mandate Party (PAN) and United Development Party (PPP) leaders at the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle'€™s (PDI-P) national meeting would not jeopardize the future of the Red-and-White Coalition.

'€œThere'€™s no harm in attending meetings of the other political parties. It is good for our democracy,'€ Muzani said.

Muzani said he was convinced that in spite of the presence of the two parties at the PDI-P national meeting, they would remain within the coalition.

Late last week, PAN and the PPP attended the national assembly of the PDI-P, which leads Jokowi'€™s Gotong Royong Coalition, in Semarang, Central Java.

President-elect Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo was reported to be opening up the opportunity for the PPP and PAN to propose members for his Cabinet, as he said he believed the two parties would join his administration following their attendance at the PDI-P meeting.

Jokowi is believed to be considering PAN'€™s Drajad Wibowo and PPP executive and Religious Affairs Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin to fill social-affairs ministerial seats.
