An Indonesian man has died because of a tragic accident in Melaka, Malaysia, on Thursday.

Truck driver Anas Tawi, 55, lost his life when a 25-ton iron crane arm suddenly fell and hit the truck he was driving around shopping centers in Melaka. He died on the scene because of serious wounds to his head.

'€œThe accident happened so quickly. At the time, my truck was behind his truck. An iron bar suddenly fell and hit his truck,'€ said Anas'€™s colleague, Sabari Bidin, 45, as quoted by Antara news agency.

Siti Hidayu Anas, 22, one of Anas'€™s children, said that her father had worked as a truck driver in Malaysia for more than 30 years. She said that she could hardly believe about the accident that killed her father.

Meanwhile, Melaka Police officer Razali Bakar said that the police had brought Anas'€™s body to the Melaka hospital for post-mortem examination. (alz)
