orruption EradicationCommission (KPK) spokesman Johan Budi SP says KPK investigators have arrestedRiau Governor Annas Maamun and eight others over corruption allegations.
He said the KPK had also confiscated a bundle of cash in rupiah and Singapore dollar denominations, but was unable to reveal how much money had been confiscated.
"We're still counting the money right now," Johan told a press conference on Thursday night.
Johan said among the arrested were two of Annas' personal staff, a businessman and Annas family members.
Tribunnews.com has reported that Annas is currently being questioned at the KPK's headquarters.
Johan said the KPK had a day to determine the detainees' legal status.
According to early reports, Annas allegedly accepted bribes in relation to a land acquisition in Riau.
