ight students of SMA 3 state senior high school in South Jakarta and three adults testified during a trial of two minors at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday in the case of the death of 16-year-old Arfiand Caesar Al Irhami following a mountain-climbing trip.

The victim'€™s mother, Diana Dewi, was one of the adults that testified during the closed hearing for a male student and a female alumnus of the school.

'€œThe other adults are the parents of students who were on the committee for the trip,'€ Diana said.

The witnesses also testified during a separate trial later in the afternoon for a suspect, a male alumnus, who was considered an adult.

Previously, four SMA 3 students were given suspended 18-month prison sentences and two years'€™ probation for negligence causing Arfiand'€™s death, under Article 359 of the Criminal Code.

So far nine people have been implicated in the hazing case. Four have received a verdict, another four are being tried and one, an alumnus, is awaiting trial.

The case of another victim of the mountain-climbing trip, 10th grader Padian Prawiro, is still being investigated by the police.
