he head of the South Sumatra Public Works Agency, Rizal Abdullah, said he was ready to comply with the legal requirements of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) with regard to his status as a suspect in a graft case.
'As a law-abiding citizen I will follow the legal process at the KPK,' Rizal said at his office in Palembang on Tuesday.
He said he would consult his lawyers regarding his next step and declined to comment on the athlete village corruption case in which he had been implicated.
Separately, South Sumatra Governor Alex Noerdin said the provincial administration would arrange legal assistance for Rizal. He also denied having any involvement in the case, arguing that he had not received any money from the project.
