AKARTA: Film producer and director Lola Amaria says she spent two weeks touring Europe to offer her movies to European and American film distributors.
'It's getting more difficult to use a distributor to promote our films in important film forums abroad. It's better to do it yourself,' Lola said as quoted by kompas.com.
Among the movies she offered were her works Negeri Tanpa Telinga (The Country Without Ears) and Minggu Pagi di Victoria Park (Sunday Morning at Victoria Park).
Lola said that Indonesian films had been minimally promoted. 'People know more about Indonesia than, for example, the Philippines, but our films are rarely found in international forums,' said the 36-year-old.
'We have to be more aggressive in distributing films,' she said.
