Press Council meets Indonesia'€™s seventh president for journalism talks

P

ress Council chairman Bagir Manan visited Jakarta City Hall on Monday to meet outgoing Jakarta Governor and president-elect Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo for discussions on journalism.

'€œHe has to know everything related to the Press Council and how our journalists work,'€ he told reporters after the meeting as quoted by tempo.co.

Bagir added that that the meeting was important because journalists would report on Jokowi'€™s performance as the country'€™s seventh president after the People'€™s Consultative Assembly (MPR) inaugurates him on Oct. 20.

Bagir, along with members of the Press Council including Ninok Leksono and Nezar Patria, arrived at the Hall at 10 a.m. (alz)
