As president-elect Joko âJokowiâ Widodo will take office on Oct
s president-elect Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo will take office on Oct. 20, a movie titled Jokowi Adalah Kita (Jokowi Is Us) will be played in cinemas across the archipelago on Nov. 20.
The movie is about his activities as governor of the capital city and shows things like his famous daily blusukan (impromptu visits) to various places and spots in Jakarta to see directly for himself the real condition of the city and its people.
It also includes the time when Jokowi was nominated by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) as presidential candidate. It highlights his efforts and struggles to win during the presidential election in July, including him asking for permission to be involved in the election from his mother.
Producer KK Dheeraj promised that the film would tell us more about the side of Jokowi that was less well-known by the people.
'I want to give more to the audience. That is why we also pictured Jokowi's closeness and relation with his wife and family,' Dheeraj said recently, as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Meanwhile, Ronny Mepet, the director, said that the hardest part while making the film was having to move to a lot of places when Jokowi conducted his blusukan.
'It was a challenge because the places where he goes for blusukan are very crowded,' Ronny said, adding that onlookers were curious and excited about the movie during the shooting process. (tah/nfo)(++++)
