AKARTA: Slank has prepared a special song for the Salam 3 Jari (Three-Finger Salute) concert to be held on Monday at the National Monument park to celebrate the inauguration of Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo as president.
The venerable rock band's guitarist, Abdee Negara, told tempo.co in Jakarta that he was optimistic that the song would resonate with the public. 'I think it's really cool,' Abdee said.
Abdee hoped that Jokowi would join the band to sing the special song. 'At the Bung Karno [Stadium] concert [in July], Jokowi said he would not sing on stage, but he did anyway after we gave him the mic,' Abdee said, laughing.
