he Indonesian Broadcast Commission (KPI) has warned TV station TransTVover its alleged violation of broadcasting rules by airing the wedding ofartists Raffi Ahmad and Nagita Slavina for two consecutive days.
KPI chairman Judhariksawan said that the warning letter had been sent on Friday to TransTV, stating that the14-hour live program entitled Menuju Janji Suci (To the Sacred Vows) aired from Oct. 16 to Oct. 17 was not suitable for public viewing and had violated the public interest.
'The airing [of Raffi's wedding] contravened Article 11 (1) on guidance of broadcasting,' he said as quoted by kompas.com.
KPI has also asked TransTV not to re-air the program in the following days and not to repeat their violation.
Television watchdog Remotivi has previously condemned the trend of television channels airing celebrities' wedding receptions.
TV station RCTI aired the wedding party of pop singers Anang Hermansyah and Ashanti for three hours on May 20, 2012.(alz/dic)
