eople'€™s Consultative Assembly (MPR) speaker Zulkifli Hasan said preparations for the inauguration of president-elect Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo and vice president- elect Jusuf Kalla on Monday were 99 percent complete.

'€œThere are no more hindrances. Only minor technical issues, such as microphone positioning, still need to be resolved,'€ Zulkifli said as quoted by Antara news agency after attending a dress rehearsal for the inauguration at the People'€™s Consultative Assembly/House of Representatives (MPR/DPR) compound in Jakarta on Sunday.

The MPR speaker further said that a number of world leaders, namely Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, Timor Leste President Taur Matan Ruak and Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei Darussalam, as well as representatives of other countries, such as US State Secretary John Kerry, Japanese Foreign Affairs Minister Fumio Kishida and South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se, would attend the ceremony.

Zulkifli said he hoped the inauguration ran safely and smoothly. He added that former presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto was also scheduled to attend. (ebf)
