bus plunged into a 40-meter-deep ravine off the Tebingbatu Way Manula ramp in the South Bukit Barisan National Park area on the border of Lampung and Bengkulu provinces on Saturday night, killing at least five of its passengers.
'Police are still investigating the accident,' Lampung Police spokesperson Adj. Sr. Comr. Sulistyaningsih said on Sunday.
Sulistyaningsih said five of the bus' 22 passengers died instantly while the remaining passengers sustained minor to severe injuries.
She said all the victims had been evacuated while injured victims were rushed to Kaur Bengkulu General Hospital.
