ational Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Agus Rianto has announced that President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo has picked Sr. Comr. Listyo Sigit Prabowo as his adjutant.
'Pak Listyo is officially the new President's adjutant. He has been serving in the position since yesterday [on Sunday],' Agus said on Monday as quoted by Antara news agency.
Before being appointed as Jokowi's adjutant, Listyo was the criminal investigation unit director at the Central Sulawesi Police.
In addition to that, when Jokowi served as Surakarta mayor, Listyo was the head of the Surakarta Police, Agus said.
The newly appointed adjutant was one of four police officers that the National Police Chief Gen. Sutarman recommended to the President last week.
Sutarman recommended Listyo, Sr. Comr. Agus Wijayanto, Sr. Comr. Teddy Minahasa Putra and Adj. Sr. Comr. Bakharudin Muhammad Syah.
Listyo was appointed as the President's adjutant and Bakharudin was picked to be Vice President Jusuf Kalla's adjutant.
The police will also provide security for the newly inaugurated Cabinet ministers.
