hree hours after inaugurating his 34 ministers on Monday, President Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo gathered his top aides in the first Cabinet meeting under his leadership and asked all Cabinet members to use all available resources to get to work, despite a number of organizational changes.

In his opening speech, President Jokowi instructed those leading ministries in which the organizational structure had been split or merged with other ministries, like the Research and Technology and Higher Education Ministry, to coordinate with director generals or deputies in the existing structure.

'€œFor new ministers who have no office and staff, like the coordinating maritime affairs minister, you need to immediately coordinate with the state secretary and the administrative and bureaucratic reform minister. However, you can start work by using any [resources] available,'€ he said.

A week after taking the oath as Indonesia's seventh president, Jokowi inaugurated his new ministers in a ceremony held on Monday at the State Palace.

The ceremony, held the day after Jokowi announced his Cabinet lineup at the same venue, began at 11:30 a.m., with ministers wearing brown batik. (nfo)(+++)
