Comments: KMP looks to dominate House

O

strong>Oct. 22, p2

Recent efforts at reconciliation from President Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo and losing presidential contender Prabowo Subianto do not appear to apply to the two political coalitions that support them, with the fiery rivalry between the two coalitions alive and well at the House of Representatives.

Prabowo'€™s Red-and-White Coalition (KMP), which has a majority of House seats, is resisting sharing power with lawmakers from Jokowi'€™s Great Indonesia Coalition and looks to be insisting on complete control of all leadership positions in the House'€™s internal bodies.

Your comments:

The reconciliation and the salute, etc. was just a soap opera to convince the world he is a statesman. That is because the backlash and the feedback were negative. I think on the floor of the People'€™s Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the House, the dirty games will continue and the ones losing out are the Indonesian people.

The most important thing everyone in Indonesia can do, not only Jokowi, is work together to develop our country.

The so-called reconciliation was just some kind of gimmick, I think. It is just a way to prove that Prabowo is actually a statesman. They even said that he had proved that he'€™s a statesman, so now it'€™s time for Jokowi to prove his worthiness.

They also did it just to calm people down, so they wouldn'€™t be watched all the time. So they could do just whatever they want.

And what did Gerindra have to tolerate actually that made them say that they had tolerated enough? It'€™s actually Jokowi who had to tolerate their mockery and defamation.
