ndonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) lawmaker Eva Kusuma Sundari has spoken of her disappointment after the party'€™s chairwoman, Megawati Soekarnoputri, chose not to allow her to become a member of President Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla'€™s Working Cabinet.

However, she said she understood and accepted Megawati'€™s decision.

'€œMas Pram [PDI-P secretary general Pramono Anung] told me last Friday that we had already received another assignment from Bu Mega,'€ she said on Tuesday as quoted by tempo.co.

She said that the assignment was to strengthen the PDI-P'€™s position at the House of Representatives.

She said the party'€™s other officials, such as Pramono and Maruarar Sirait, had also been assigned by Megawati to similar tasks.

Eva, Pramono and Maruarar are top PDI-P officials and were rumored to have been Jokowi'€™s choices for some ministerial posts.

However, when Jokowi announced his Cabinet on Sunday afternoon, Eva, Pramono and Maruarar were nowhere to be seen.

With Megawati'€™s permission, Jokowi appointed other officials, namely Megawati'€™s daughter Puan Maharani as coordinating human development and culture minister, Tjahjo Kumolo as home minister, Yasonna Hamonangan Laoly as law and human rights minister and Anak Agung Gede Ngurah Puspayoga as cooperatives and small and medium enterprises minister.
