"We will soon install the devices in five urban villages prone to flooding," Bambang said at City Hall as quoted by Antara news agency on Friday.
The five subdistricts will be Rawa Buaya, Kampung Melayu, Bidara Cina, Petogogan and Ulujami.
"The devices will be installed in 15 locations in each village," he said, adding that the devices, to be equipped with sirens and loudspeakers, were funded by a grant from a radio company in Japan.
"We have received the devices from Japan and they will be installed as soon as possible," Bambang added. (hhr)
