Amien'€™s house shot at by unidentified people

T

he chairman of the National Mandate Party's (PAN) consultative board and 1998 reform icon Amien Rais has become the target of terrorist action, as his house was shot at by unidentified people on Thursday morning.

'€œUnidentified people shot at Pak Amien'€™s house. The bullets pierced his car, which was parked in the house'€™s front yard. The incident happened at around 2 a.m.,'€ said PAN deputy chairman Drajad Wibowo, as quoted by tribunnews.com.

According to Drajad, Amien was asleep when the incident happened. Based on the testimony of the house'€™s security guard, the alleged perpetrators fled from the scene by motorcycle immediately after shooting at the house.

Amien'€™s house is located in Depok, Yogyakarta. Police are still investigating the crime scene.

Amien'€™s son Hanafi Rais Wiryosudarmo said that his family still did not know what the motive of the attack was. '€œOur family does not know what the motives and who the perpetrators were. We are leaving that to the police for follow-up,'€ he said. (ask)(+++)
