Spokesperson for the South Jakarta prosecutor's office Chandra Saptaji said the prosecutor's office would bring the case to the district court and had appointed prosecutors to prosecute the two suspects.
'We have already sent the dossiers to the South Jakarta District Court to set the schedule for the case's trial. We hope that the trial will start soon,' he said on Thursday.
According to the South Jakarta District Court website, the case was registered last Tuesday. However, the trial has yet to be scheduled.
The two suspects ' Neil Bantleman and Ferdinant Tjiong ' have been detained at the Jakarta Police headquarters in South Jakarta for more than three months, and have now been handed over to the state prosecutor's office in line with the recent of submission of their dossiers.
The two suspects and their lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea have repeatedly denied the charges, claiming that the police had no evidence to charge the pair.
Five outsourced cleaners are currently on trial at the South Jakarta District Court on related charges.
