Director Erwin Arnada and screenwriter Salman Aristo (left) say they'€™ve found a treasure trove of information in the Netherlands for their upcoming biopic about one of Indonesia'€™s founding fathers, Mohammad Hatta.

Over 10 days in The Netherlands, where Hatta was kept under house arrest during the Independence War; the team found more than 25,000 items relating to Hatta published in 1925 alone.

'€œThe number speaks volumes as to the importance of Hatta in fighting for independence, right from the country of the colonizer, during his house arrest,'€ Erwin said as quoted by tempo.co on Sunday.

Salman said that they also took a look at the room where Hatta, then vice president, led a tripartite conference in The Haag in 1949.

Erwin added that filming would start in February.
