AKARTA: Reza Rahadian says that he'll be acting against type in Ifa Isfansyah's upcoming martial-arts action film Pendekar Tongkat Emas (The Golden Cane Warrior).
The 27-year-old said that his role as tough-guy fighter Biru would be different from his award-winning turn in last year's love story Habibie & Ainun.
'The character is opposite. Ambitious. We have a formidable opponent here,' Reza said in Jakarta on Sunday, as reported by tribbunews.com.
Reza said he trained for almost seven months for the film, which is slated for release later this month.
'The process was laborious. I fell off the horse more times than I can count,' he said. 'Bruises, wounds were a common experience for the actors.'
