ver a thousand persons registered in the Prosperous Family Card (KKS) program set to receive cash aid following the increase in the subsidized fuel prices have complained about the sluggish disbursement of funds in Bandung, West Java.
Aid recipient Jaji, 57, of North Nyengseret, Bojongloa Kidul district, who arrived at the Bandung Post Office in the morning, said he had to wait until noon to receive the cash.
'I came last week but the queue was long, so I came again this morning and it was still the same,' said the father of seven on Tuesday, who earns a living as a pedicab driver.
Another aid recipient, Siti Mustopiah, 55, said it took five hours to get the government-sponsored funds.
State-run PT Pos Indonesia employee Asep Suparman said the long lines were due to a common misunderstanding. 'They [the aid recipients] arrived together in the morning thinking it was he only day they could get their aid,' Asep said. The Bandung Post Office will continue to run the cash disbursement program until Dec. 2.(***)
