hrough its subsidiary Aerotravel, national flag carrierGaruda Indonesia has inked a deal with PT Modern Sevel Indonesia, the providerof 7-Eleven convenience stores in the country, to upgrade its services.
Through this cooperation, customers will be able to purchase tickets from Garuda and its low-cost carrier Citilink.
For Garuda, this follows the opening of a 24-hour outlet at Hotel Borobudur, Jakarta.
Garuda marketing director Erik Meijer said the step was taken to fulfill customer demand for ticket availability.
'The flight business is a 24-hour [business]. Therefore, it is mandatory to provide such a service for our customers,' Erik said as quoted by kompas.com on Friday.
Initially, there will be five 7-Eleven outlets offering Garuda and Citilink tickets for sale, later developing into 144 outlets.(dic)
