AKARTA: Rock legends Slank will appear on screen in Jakata Pagi Ini: A Slank Musical later this month, kompas.com is reporting.

The production, featuring some of the band'€™s most famous songs, will combine stage action, film, an orchestra and the band at the Ciputra Artpreneur Theater.

'€œSlank will play some of their songs. There will also a few scenes where we have to act,'€ frontman and drummer Bimbim said.

The project, described as a political thriller with a love triangle, is produced and directed by Mirwan Suwarso, known for his modern takes on traditional wayang performances.

The musical will star singers and musicians Ariyo Wahab, Maruli Tampubolon, Aqi Alexa and Aimee Saras and feature orchestral music by Aksan Sjuman.
