resident Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo is scheduled to hold a teleconference with Indonesians working abroad on Sunday afternoon, partly to hear their aspirations and highlight issues affecting the workers.
The President will communicate via video conference facilities with Indonesian migrant workers in eight countries: Brunei Darussalam, Egypt, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan. The dialogue will be held at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on 3 p.m. local time on Sunday, according to Antara news agency.
Shortly after being inaugurated on Oct.20, President Jokowi held a teleconference with residents in various cities across Indonesia to hear their views on urban problems.
A second teleconference took place several weeks ago, during which Jokowi talked to a number of residents fleeing from natural disasters in Aceh and Sinabung.
On Nov. 27, Jokowi inaugurated Golkar Party politician Nusron Wahid, who is also leader of Anshor, the youth wing of the country's largest Muslim organization, Nahdlatul Ulama, as the new head of the Agency for the Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (BNP2TKI). (ebf)
