ore than 20 malls in Banten areas of Tangerang municipality, Tangerang regency, South Tangerang, Cilegon and Serang are joining the month-long Banten Great Sale, the first ever such event in the province.
The head of the sale committee, Roy Nicholas Mande, said the committee hoped that sales would reach Rp 4.5 trillion (US$376 million) in total transactions, or about a third of the Jakarta Great Sale's transactions of Rp 13 trillion this year.
Roy said 22 malls would participate, including new malls that have yet to open, like AEON Mal in BSD City in South Tangerang and Dadap Green City in Kosambi in Tangerang regency.
Other malls include Summarecon Mall Serpong, Supermall Karawaci and Living World Alam Sutera in Tangerang regency.
The event is a cooperative effort between the Banten administration, the Indonesian Shopping Center Association (APPBI) and the Association of Indonesian Retailers (Aprindo). (***)
