President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo has issued an ultimatum demanding that all stakeholders show a strong will to resolve land and forest fires in Indonesia, especially in Riau province, where the issue has persisted for the last 17 years.

The smog limits visibility when driving. Moreover, it causes respiratory problems. All citizens, especially those living in Riau, should help to find a solution. Peatland conservation needs to continue to prevent forest fires. In addition, those responsible for starting these fires should be imprisoned.
