Guess what?: Use Korea as model, Mira says

AKARTA: Mira Lesmana says that if the Indonesian government is serious about developing local creative industries, it should turn to South Korea as a model.

The producer of Ifa Isfansyah'€™s upcoming action film Pendekar Tongkat Emas (Golden Stick Warrior) said that officials in South Korea used movies to attract tourists to particular regions.

'€œThe local administrations are racing to have filmmakers shoot in their area,'€ Mira said, as quoted by tribunnews.com on Monday. '€œThey offer facilities such as fire trucks, hospital and tax rebates, even.'€

Mira said that she hoped that the planned Creative Industry Agency to be set up by President Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo would take heed.
