Traffic outside Season City mall and apartments on Jl
raffic outside Season City mall and apartments on Jl. Prof. Dr. Latumeten in Tambora, West Jakarta, was congested Thursday evening as visitors scrambled to leave the premises in their cars after learning about a fire in the building's basement.
The Jakarta Police's Traffic Management Center (TMC) Twitter account re-tweeted a citizen report about the traffic.
West Jakarta Fire Agency head, Herman, said, as quoted by tribunnews.com, that they could not confirm the cause of the fire yet, although it had started in a room housing a power generator in the basement.
The agency deployed 17 fire trucks to extinguish the fire.
One of the apartment tenants, Gio, said that mall visitors and tenants had rushed out of the building upon seeing the smoke at 8:30 p.m.
He said many mall visitors went to the basement in spite of the fire to save their cars.
'The power is completely out at the mall and now visitors are scrambling into the car park,' he said.
