he Balikpapan Customs and Excise Office displayed confiscated goods in the form of 1 million untaxed cigarettes and 96,000 illegally taxed cigarettes on Wednesday.
The state would have suffered up to Rp 400 million (US$33,000) in losses from tax potential for the entire shipment.
The office also displayed three Japanese pornographic magazines, a sex toy, an air soft gun with several components and 25 live bullets.
The contraband was seized from the post and customs offices.
Balikpapan Customs and Excise Office head Kunawi said the cigarettes were seized from a truck unloading them from a freighter plying the Surabaya-Balikpapan route.
'The observation team was suspicious of the truck when it arrived at the port. When they inspected the truck, it was carrying the cigarettes in large cartons, without the appropriate tax bands,' said Kunawi, as reported by Antara news agency.
